Badger Pumpkin Ale (Halloween Special)
Posted on | October 31, 2008 | 2 Comments
Last night I was lucky enough to try Badger’s seasonal bottled beer, Pumpkin Ale (4.6 ABV). Badger Pumpkin ale contains hints of roast pumpkin, cloves and peat, and is only available for limited time.
On tasting, Pumpkin Ale definitely does have a delicate aroma and taste of pumpkin which is spiced up with cinnamon, coriander, and clove notes. The beer has a good lasting white head, and is a little fizzy. I really enjoyed this beer, and will hopefully have a couple over the Halloween weekend. Pumpkin Ale is fairly sweet which means could get a little sickly after a couple so be careful.
You can buy the beer from most large supermarkets, and through Badgers Direct. If you fancy checking out more beer reviews, and fancy submitting your own visit Good Beer Online.
Description from Badger:
“This limited edition bottled Badger beer is a superior blend of sweet vegetables, warming spices and bitter ale – a delicious concoction for those cool autumnal evenings.
‘Supernaturally spiced’ Pumpkin Ale (4.6% ABV) is a sweet and slightly smoky ale, especially recommended for accompanying pumpkin pie, sticky toffee apples and carrot cake. The back label of the bottle also features a recipe for a delicious Pumpkin Ale Soup.”

Sadly Badger/ Hall and Woodhouse have decided that they won’t be producing Pumpkin Ale in the future.. I guess not enough people recognised it as it was only seasonal around Halloween.
I highly recommend it though, had a nice nutty flavour from the pumpkins and a smoked peat undertone.
Please join my campaign to get it back!

Thanks for letting me know about the campaign Sally, I’ve joined the group since I would love for Badger to bring this beer back.
