Looking for LastFM firefox add-on

Posted on | July 24, 2009 | No Comments

So, I use Spotify a lot while browsing in Firefox.  It’s great that Spotify can scrobbble listens to Last FM, and it’s great that Firefox can allow to control the browser by using Foxytunes.  But….

I am looking for a Firefox add-on that allows me to control the ‘Love Track’ function from within the browser.  Foxytunes would be awesome it it added this feature, especially as all the other Last FM Firefox add-ons don’t offer this functionality.

So get in contact if you can help…

Meanwhile, check out a pretty massive track using Spotify:

Foxytunes now supports Spotify

Posted on | July 22, 2009 | No Comments

Mozilla Firefox’s Add-on ‘FoxyTunes‘ now supports the streaming music application ‘Spotify’.

Foxytunes allows you to add a customisable toolbar into Firefox which allows you to control your media player from within the browser.  Foxytunes will also display the track currently being played, and show (optionally) show artwork and links to the artists website.

Foxytunes is a great add-on if you find yourself listening to music while browsing in Firefox since it saves you flicking between your media player and the browser.

Foxytunes has supported Windows Media Player, iTunes, Winamp etc for ages now, but it’s only this month started supporting Spotify.

Last FM – what is it, and why.

Posted on | October 9, 2008 | No Comments

Last FM is a social networking service that tracks the music you play from your computer and posts it your profile for you and others to see.

This allows your friends to see what kind of music you are enjoying at the moment, as well as what is your most played tracks and artists.  Friends that also have a Last FM can recommend music to you, and send you messages just like on Facebook or Myspace.

What’s cool with Last FM is that you can display customised charts on your own website, blog, Myspace/Facebook profile, so that others can see your music tastes without having to go to your Last FM profile.  You can see I have a couple of these over on the right there…

Last FM is also a great way to find new music, especially through looking at people’s profiles who have similar tastes to you, something that Last FM can arrange for you.

So without preaching Last FM too much, I’m gonna leave it at that and hope you go try it out if you haven’t already.  If you want to add me, my user name is wilyam

New Mr Scruff album – ‘Ninja Tuna’

mr scruff ninja tuna

Stockport legend Mr Scruff has released a brand-new studio album entitled ‘Ninja Tuna’, his first since Trouser Jazz in 2002, and early reviews are very positive and promising.

I’m gonna be getting the album later on this week, to be honest I really can’t wait to hear it after re-discovering Mr Scruff’s previous two albums. And the fact that he has titled the album as a homage to my favourite record label Ninja Tune just makes everything that much more special.

Has anyone heard this yet?

Sub Focus – Timewarp

Posted on | September 28, 2008 | 2 Comments

I’m off to the Manchester Warehouse Project this friday to see Sub Focus, Chase & Status, Goldie, Grooverider etc, and since I’ve been getting in the mood by playing loads of Sub Focus stuff, I thought I could link to to one of this summer’s greatest drum and bass tunes – Time Warp by Sub Focus.

A mad bastard of a tune – heavy, simple, bolshy.  Awesome.  It’s one of those tunes that just makes you grin, and will just kill the room in a club.  The production levels are amazing on Time Warp, much like any Sub Focus tune. Check it out at the link below.
